At the base of the Grandes Rousses in the heart of Oisans, Alpe d'Huez is a located in a spectacular spot on a vast plateau at 1850m altitude. Nicknamed "Sunshine Island" because of its legendary sun-drenched slopes, the renowned Alpe d'Huez needs no introduction.
Lovers of open spaces and wonderful sensations will find the right mix of essential activities for sports vacations or family vacations.
Altitude: 1860-3330m.
Ski area.
Downhill Skiing: the ski area for Grandes Rousses has 240km of ski runs with 87 lifts. 115 marked runs with 38 green, 31 blue, 32 red, 17 black.
700 artificial snow making machines.
The ski resort has easy runs for beginners and children as well as Grand Ski for more competitive skiing.
Alpe d'Huez is linked to the following resorts: Oz en Oisans, Villard Reculas, Auris en Oisans, and Vaujany.
Cross country skiing: 50 km of marked and signed runs.
Activities.
Activities at the Sports Center: climbing wall, driving range, aerobics, weight lifting, squash, tennis, table tennis, step classes, water aerobics, pool, movie theatre...
